Sweat, sweat, sweat

Sweat. We all sweat. Some more than others. Myself, I tend to sweat more on certain days, depending on where I am in my menstrual cycle. I also used to try and find the longest lasting, super anti-bacterial, alcohol stinking, most "KILL ALL ODOUR" branded deodorants with the most toxic looking label - to make sure I'd dry out my armpits until they were to be compared to the deserts of Sahara. Then a dear friend came to the rescue, with a home made cream deodorant that I was to apply with my fingertips. At first it felt a bit weird, but the I thought, why would I put anything I wouldn't touch with my fingers, in my armpits? The original recipe can be found here, and Hanne Robinson has written a great article about why we sweat, and also added a few recipes herself. But as it's sooooo simple, I've copied in the recipe below. Because it works, and it feels good.

H O M E   M A D E   D E O D O R A N T

Add 2 tbsp arrowroot or corn-starch, 1 tbsp baking powder, 1 tbsp beeswax, 1,5 tbsp virgin coconut oil and 1 tbsp shea butter to a small glass container. You may add 10-20 drops of essential oil as well, but it's not needed. Place it in a bain-marie (just put the glass container in a small saucepan with water), and let it melt slowly, whilst stirring occasionally. Put on a lid, and let it cool in the fridge. And that's it. Really.
