Copenhagen guide | Part 2
Bierback's guide to
Frederiksberg is, for many reasons, considered the finer part of Copenhagen. So fine, it's not actually even Copenhagen. It's an independent municipality, surrounded by Copenhagen. You might notice the streets to be a bit cleaner, the houses to be a bit bigger and the shops to be a bit fancier. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful and welcoming area, housing some of our absolute favourite spots in Copenhagen.
1. EAT | ACACIA
Gammel Kongevej 171, 1850 Frederiksberg. Don't blame us you didn't try this place earlier. If vegan heaven was to be created physically, there would be no need. Acacia IS vegan heaven and don't you dare not ordering the same item from the menu. Try, share, taste, dream!
2. SHOP | VÆRNEDAMSVEJ
Værnedamsvej, 1819 Frederiksberg. Standing on the street side with even numbers, you're on Vesterbro. Standing on the other, you're on Frederiksberg. No matter which side you begin with, you'll want to sick sac down this charming little street, not missing a single shop, café or restaurant. If you only have a few hours in Copenhagen, you should spend them here. Værnedamsvej has everything you need. Don't spend all you money in Shop Dora, make sure you try the Eggs Benedict at Granola, moisturise your hands with balm from Aesop, enjoy a perfect flat white at Rist Kaffebar and have at least one Moritz at Falernum (or wine, wine also works).
3. EAT | KARMAMAN
Frederiksberg Allé 31, 1820 Frederiksberg. No fuss, grab a seat, warm atmosphere and hearty food. We often get the course of the day, the day after, as take away. Beautiful concept in beautiful surroundings.
4. COFFEE | IPSEN & CO
Gammel Kongevej 108, 1850 Frederiksberg. These guys do a really nice breakfast, but we also recommend to order a coffee to take away from their über cute little take away window.
5. DO | FREDERIKSBERG HAVE
Frederiksberg Runddel, 2000 Frederiksberg. Wether it's to lay down on the grass and just breathe, to play a game of kubb, get your skates on or wave at the elephants, Frederiksberg Have is a well visited green spot. Step through the gates and keep an eye out for the cave, the Chinese gazebo, the temple and the waterfall.
